Back in 2014, I had the opportunity to acquire part of a collection of 1870s and early 1890s receipts for items bought by the DL&W. My real interest at the time was for the unique engravings of the products offered and or the companies' works on the top of the billheads with their font styles and point sizes. Some of the total collection had 15 different fonts and or point sizes. After reviewing these documents, another interest arose. It was the variety of goods and services the that Lackawanna procured from these various firms through the years. This article includes 15 of the DL&W specific billheads from companies that supplied products to the DL&W. These are included for their historical value and to peak the readers' interest.
